The Florida Live Local Act provides incentives to boost affordable housing. It allows increased zoning, tax breaks, and faster permitting for projects with affordable units. This overrides local rules, enabling mixed-use developments in commercial zones. The goal is to address Florida's housing shortage by making it easier to build affordable and workforce housing.
Faster construction timelines reduce costs and provide immediate housing solutions.
